Frances May Mantey (Alles 1952 Home Ec)

Frances May Mantey, daughter of Fritz H. (1894-1973) and Violet (Coler) (1899-1979) Mantey, was born 12 February 1919 Tuscola County, Michigan.

Frances was employed by Okemos Consolidated Schools to teach Home Economics for the school years of 1951-52 and 1952-1953.  She married Glenarvon Howard "Glen" Alles 11 July 1953, thus ending her career at Okemos.

Glen and Frances did not have children.  Glen, born 19 April 1900, Michigan, died 16 August 1960, Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan.  He was interred Indian Fields Township Cemetery, also called Caro Cemetery, Tuscola County, Michigan.

GLEN H. ALLES

Caro - Glen H. Alles, 60, druggist here the last six years, died Tuesday night in St. Luke's Hospital in Saginaw.

Before coming to Caro in May 1954, Mr. Alles was employed 25 years in Detroit by a drug store chain.

He is survived by his widow the former Frances Mantey, Caro, whom he married July 11, 1953; two brothers Dr. Russel Alles, Birmingham, and Hirtus Alles, Williamston, Mich., and a sister Mrs. Elsie Jenkins, Detroit.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Evangelical United Brethren church by Rev. M. H. Willard.  Burial will be in Caro Cemetery.

Frances died 1 June 1997 in Florida.
