Louis W. Wilson - Class Of 1924

Louis W. Wilson, son and only child of Charles Adelbert (1877-1927) and Goldie C. (Hancock) (1882-1975) Wilson, was born 17 April 1905 Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1924 from Okemos High School.  Louis married Elvera Gladys Henning 26 June 1929 Ingham County.

Louis died 29 December 1974 Gaylord, Otsego County, Michigan.

Age 69, died at a Gaylord Hospital, December 29, 1974.  Born April 17, 1905 in Okemos.  He was a lifelong resident of the East Lansing and Okemos area.  He was formerly employed at John Deere Co. for 23 years as a territory manager.  In 1951 he began a John Deere Equipment Company Store in Ovid, in 1970 the company name was known as Wilson & Son, was changed to Frolka & Wilson Inc. where he was serving as vice president at the time of his death.  Surviving are the wife, Elvera G.; 1 son, Charles L.; daughter, Miss Jean E. Wilson; 3 grandchildren, Susanne, Karin and Lisa, all of East Lansing; mother, Mrs. Goldie Lightfoot of Grand Rapids.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman East Chapel, East Lansing with the Rev. Dr. Howard Sugden Pastor of the South Baptist Church officiating.  Interment in Deepdale Memorial Park.

Elvera, born 4 August 1907, and a graduate of West Michigan University, taught elementary school for many years.  She died 7 January 1994 and was also interred Deepdale Memorial Park, Eaton County, Michigan.
