Roy Richard Butters - Class Of 1906

Roy Richard Butters, son of Albert (1867 New York - 1926) and Emma E. (Bellinger) (1870 Canada - 1939) Butters, was born 28 October 1888 Michigan.  Roy graduated in 1906 from the Okemos School.  He succumbed to pneumonia and meningitis, 9 February 1911, and was interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos, Ingham County.

OKEMOS

Okemos, Feb. 10 - Bernice Proctor has the tonsillitis.

Roy Butters, who has been very sick with pneumonia, is failing.  His parents have the sympathy of the whole community.

The Ladies' Aid society and the rag social to be held at Howard Moore's has been postponed on account of the serious illness of Roy Butters.

OKEMOS LAD DEAD

Roy Richard Butters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Butters, of Okemos, died at his home Thursday afternoon as a result of a severe attack of pneumonia.

The young man was well known in the community in which he died, having moved there with his parents in 1890.  He was a great favorite among his companions and classmates, graduating from the Okemos school in 1906.  Services will be held Sunday afternoon interment following in the Okemos cemetery.  Besides the father and mother a single sister, Beulah Mae, survives the deceased.

Mrs. Peter Bellinger, who came here to attend the funeral of her grandson, Roy R. Butters, but had the misfortune to break her arm, returned to her home in Detroit Saturday.
