Wilma G. Kinney, daughter of Edward Porter (1867-1955) and Minnie Sarah (Graham) (1869-1949) Kinney, was born 5 December 1909, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. She graduated from Okemos High School in 1927.
Wilma married John Lemoyne Kiblinger 25 December 1932, East Lansing, Ingham County.

M. S. C. GRADUATE WEDDED IN YULE CEMEMONY
One of the loveliest of the Yuletide weddings was that of Miss Wilma G. Kinney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Kinney of Cedar Bend farm, Okemos, to John L. Kiblinger of Decatur, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Kiblinger of Niles, which took place Christmas Day at 1:30 o'clock in the chapel of the People's church, East Lansing.
The Rev. N. A. McCune read the service in the presence of immediate relatives. Miss Inez Whittemore and Morrow Kinney were the only attendants.
The bride was charming in her wedding gown of powder blue crepe with which she carried an arm bouquet of pink and white roses. Miss Whittemore wore pink lace and carried pink roses.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents.
Mrs. Kiblinger is a graduate of Michigan State college with the class of 1930 and is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She is at present a teacher of home economics in the Decatur schools. Mr. Kiblinger attended Northwestern university and is in business in Decatur.
John, born 12 February 1911, Indiana, became a Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan, business man and community leader. He managed several Kroger Company stores and later became vice president of Merchants Mutual Insurance Company of Grand Rapids. In 1951 John moved to Traverse City and established the Kiblinger Insurance Agency. He later took in a partner and the agency was named Kiblinger-Mavis Agency. John died after a short illness 29 December 1963.
Wilma, after high school, attended and graduated from Michigan State College with a teaching degree. Wilma taught for several years and then met and married John, hooking her star onto his successful business tail. After John's untimely death Wilma married widower Maurice VanMaren 5 June 1965.

KIBLINGER-VAN MAREN NUPTIALS AT CHURCH
Mrs. Wilma Kiblinger and Maurice VanMaren were united in marriage at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, June 5 by the Rev. Donald Scranton at Central Methodist Church.
A small reception was held at their home following the service. Mr. and Mrs. Van Maren will be at home to their friends at 7115 East Shore road after June 12.
Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Edward VanMaren, Belleville; Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Kinney, Okemos; Mr. and Mrs. Lois Curtis, Mason; Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Hewett, East Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Rose and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Crawford of Bridgeport.
Maurice, born 20 November 1902, died 1 December 1997. Wilma died 14 February 2002. She was interred with John in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Traverse City.

She taught Home Economics in Decatur, also where she later met and married John Kiblinger, manager of the local Kroger Store. They later moved to Lansing and in 1952 moved to Traverse City where they started the Kiblinger Insurance Agency.
John died in 1963 and in 1965 she married Maurice Van Maren, who worked for Consumers Power Company.
Mrs. Van Maren is survived by her three children, Nancy, John Kiblinger and Judy; a stepson, Edward Van Maren; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
