Harold U. Edgar

Harold U. Edgar, son of Robert (1871 Germany - 1938) and Amelia (Unruh) (1878-1930), was born 11 November 1907, Ingham County, Michigan.

March 12 - Ida Strayer, Lavinia Strayer, Orin Grettenberger and Harold Edgar have been neither absent nor tardy from the intermediate room during the winter term.

Harold graduated in 1925 from Okemos High School.  He attended Michigan State College and was employed by the Michigan Highway Department later transferring to the Enforcement Division of the State Liquor Control Commission. 

Harold married Irma M. Olson 17 November 1949, Lansing, Ingham County.  The couple had 2 sons.  Harold died 13 December 1964, Delta County, Michigan.  Irma, born 7 May 1915, Delta County, died 18 October 1980, Delta County.  Harold and Irma were interred Lakeview Cemetery, Escanaba, Delta County.

EX-LANSING MAN DIES IN ESCANABA

Harold U. Edgar, 57, of Escanaba and formerly of Lansing, died unexpectedly Sunday morning in an Escanaba hospital.

A resident of Escanaba since 1949, Mr. Edgar was Upper Peninsula district supervisor of the Enforcement Division of the State Liquor Control Commission.  He had worked for the commission since 1937.  Prior to that he was employed by the State Highway Department.

He was born in Okemos, and graduated from Okemos High School.  He attended Michigan State College.

Survivors include his wife, Irma; two sons, John of Escanaba and Robert of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Aldrich of East Lansing; Mrs. Alice Smedley of Okemos, and Mrs. Mary Ann Williams, Oak Park; and one brother Henry of Lake Odessa.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba.  Burial will be in Escanaba.
