Brandi Megan Anderson (Townsend) - Class Of 1985

Brandi Megan Anderson, daughter of Douglas B. "Andy" (1927-1985) and Nancy Anderson, was born 22 January 1967.  She graduated from Okemos High School in 1985 and went on to graduate with a BA and MA from Michigan State University.  She married Erik Townsend 24 July 1993.  Brandi died 10 November 2017.

Brandi Anderson and Erik Townsend, both of Holland, were married July 24 at the Presbyterian Church of Okemos.  They were attended by Jennifer Northrup, friend of the bride, and John Cheek, friend of the groom.  The couple honeymooned in Maine and will live in Holland.

She is a graduate of Okemos High School and Michigan State University and is a teacher for O Howa County Intermediate School District.  He is a graduate of Adams High School and Ferris State University and is a service technician for Allendale Heating Co.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy Anderson of Lansing and the late Andy Anderson.  The groom is the son of Peter and Irene Townsend of Rochester Hills.

BRANDI MEGAN ANDERSON TOWNSEND

Zeeland - Brandi Megan Townsend (Anderson) born January 22, 1967, suddenly passed away at her home in Zeeland, Michigan November 10, 2017.

She is survived by husband Erik, daughter Mikah, son Parker, mother Nancy Patricia Anderson and brother Andrew L. Anderson.

Brandi graduated from Okemos High School, attended University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. and then Michigan State University, graduating with a BA and MA in Education.  She studied ballet with Theda Assiff in East Lansing, played French Horn in orchestra at OHS, was in marchng band for the Miami Hurricanes but being in Spartan Marching Band at MSU was her favorite.  Brandi and Erik were married at Okemos Presbyterian Church July 24, 1993.  She was later ordained as a Presbyterian Elder in Grand Rapids.  Brandi taught school in Houston for a year and then returned to Michigan where she taught in various schools in the Grand Rapids area.  She was an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University, later choosing to use her abilities to help her children and others.  Brandi was devoted to her family, proud of her children and loving husband and continually helped her mother and brother.

A true humanitarian, Brandi was a beautiful, kind, caring, compassionate and accomplished person who loved linquistics, dance, swimming, music, had artistic endeavors, and cooked wonderful gourmet cuisine.  Brandi could light up a room with her smile.  Her brother Andrew said, "God called her home to be an angel."

Celebration of Brandi's Life will be held at Vitale's in Hudsonvill, MI Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2-4 p.m.
