MISS FINEOUT WED IN CANDLELIGHT RITES AT CHURCH

A candlelight service marked the wedding of Miss Norma Jean Fineout, 4319 South Hagadorn road, daughter of Bruce Fineout, 1621 Lyons avenue and Merlyn Swab, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Swab, of Mason, Saturday evening.  Rev. J. Clyde Lawder read the service before an altar banked with palms and spring flowers in the Church of Christ-Disciples.

The bride was gowned in white satin with a sweetheart neckline and a lace collar, her long sleeves extending into points over the wrist and the full skirt fell into a train.  A tiara of see pearls held a finger tip veil in place.  In her hands was a white Bible topped with an orchid.

Mrs. C. W. Lott of Evart was her sister's matron of honor in a gown of pink with matching shoulder veil.  She carried a shower bouquet of pink rose buds, carnations and sweet peas.  The bridesmaids, Miss Vernadine Fineout, sister of the bride, and Miss Evelyn Swab, sister of the bridegroom, wore matching gowns of blue net and veils.  Their arm bouquets were similar to that of the matron of honor.  C. W. Lott was groomsman, and seating the 75 guests were Clifford Fineout, brother of the bride , and Robert Reese.  Mrs. S. S. VanWagenen was at the organ and Mrs. Robert Reese sang.

Guests were received in the church parlors following the ceremony and the bridal couple left for a trip to Niagara Falls, N. Y.  After their return June 15, they will make their home at R. 4, Mason.

Merlyn worked for over 25 years in the Department of Physiology at Michigan State University.  He died 2 October 1985, Lansing, Ingham County.
