Deborah Alice "Debbie" Hill (Gunn) - Class Of 1960 VIEW PROFILE

Deborah Alice Debbie Hill (Gunn)

Deborah Alice "Debbie" Hill was born and adopted 21 January 1942 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York and brought home to Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan by parents Dewitt Ward "D. Ward" (1910-1988) and Genevieve Grace (Crawford) (1899-1982) Hill.  The Hill's were both born in New York State and married 8 July 1934, Kemore, Erie County, New York.  They settled in Okemos about the time of their marriage.  Genevieve's mother Maud Crawford (1873-1960) lived with them for 25 years. Debbie was D. Ward and Genevieve's only child.

Debbie grew up in Okemos and attended Okemos High School with her future husband, Tom Gunn, OHS 1960. She graduated in 1960 from Okemos High.  Debbie, who majored in journalism, and Tom both went on to attend Michigan State University.  They married 16 March 1968.  Their married life, through the decades, moved them from Michigan to California into Texas. Along the way Debbie had a variety of adventuresome employments which tested and stretched her many talents and skills.  She was a very accomplished woman!

Debbie died 12 February 2018, Texas.

In Debbie's memory Tom wrote: "Her life's testimony is a blueprint for all of us going forward and a "call to action" how-to defining a woman's equal but different and complimentary skill-sets, spiritual gifts, and role, always in sync as husband/wife team leaping at the same time, as one, into the unknown when God calls."
