Richard Mapes "Dick" Crawford - Class Of 1946

Richard Mapes "Dick" Crawford, son of Faye Artic (1901-1982) and Lucile (Farrell) (1904-1974) Crawford, was born 28 June 1928, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1946 from Okemos High School.  Richard then joined and honorably served in the US Army.  He married Julia Josephine Kuhn 28 June 1952, Lansing.  They enjoyed 56 years of marriage and raised 5 children together before Dick died 2 April 2009, Lansing.  He was interred Chapel Hill Memorial Garden, DeWitt, Clinton County near his parents.

RICHARD M. "DICK" CRAWFORD

DIAMONDALE

Age 80, died April 2, 2009, born June 28, 1928 in Lansing, MI to Faye and Lucille (Farrell) Crawford.

He graduated from Okemos High School where he placed basketball and football.  Dick proudly served in the US army, post-WWII in Asia as an MP.  He worked as a lead lineman for Consumer Power Company for 39 years.  He enjoyed traveling, held a private pilot's license, and doing projects for his family.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Julia (Kuhn) Crawford; five children, Timothy Crawford and family; Thomas Crawford and family; Catherine Crawford, Patricia Crawford and Douglas Crawford; two special grandchildren, Daniel T. Crawford and Taylor L. Crawford; and sister, Anna May of Dimondale.
