Rosamond May Ries Taylor, daughter of George Chester Ries (1891-1969) and Maude L. (Turk) (1893-1963) Ries, was born 19 May 1915, Cement City, Jackson County, Michigan. Rosamond and younger brother, George, went to live with a Mr. and Mrs. Frank Congdon Taylor during the 1920's. Rosamond and George were identified in the 1930 Ingham County, Michigan US Federal Census as "foster" children, "Rosamond M. Taylor" and "George B. Taylor", living in household of Frank and Hazel L. (White) (1885-1970) Taylor.
The Taylor's didn't have any biological children, according to census. Mr. Taylor (1876-1931) was President of Lansing Mortgage Company. Although the Ries children used the surname Taylor no official adoption records can be located. Later in life both Rosamond and George went back to their biological surname Ries. During high school years Rosamond was simply known as Rosamond Taylor.

OKEMOS TO OPEN COURT SEASON AT STOCKBRIDGE
Okemos, Nov. 25 - Both the boys' and girls' basketball season of Okemos high school will open December 9 with games at Stockbridge. Miss Kathryn Boyd is coaching the girls' team and J. E. Soper will be mentor of the boys' quintet. Rosamond Taylor, junior, is captain of the girls' and Milton Eicher, senior, is captain of the boys team.
Rosamond graduated in 1934 from Okemos High School. She married 1932 Okemos High alumni Newell Wendall Kiebler 6 February 1937, Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan. The marriage license identified her parents as George and Maude (Turk) Ries but she was recognized as the daughter of Mrs. Hazel L. Taylor in the Lansing State Journal newspaper announcement of the wedding.

DOUBLE WEDDING CEREMONY IS SOLEMNIZED AT JACKSON
A double wedding of interest to many Lansing and Jackson people was held at the parsonage of the First Baptist church in Jackson Saturday evening, February 6, at 7:30 o'clock. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Carl S. Winters, pastor of the church. The young couples who spoke their vows were Miss Rosamond Ries Taylor, daughter of Mrs. Hazel L. Taylor, living near Williamston, and Newell Kiebler of East Lansing, and Miss Catherine Way, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Way, 605 South Jackson street, Jackson, and Albert Strinkham, also of Jackson. Each couple in turn acted as maid of honor and best man for the other couple as the ceremony was performed. The brides are cousins.
Miss Taylor wore a gown of wine-colored chiffon velvet, while Miss Way was attired in blue chiffon velvet, and both wore corsages of gardenias. Miss Taylor, a nurse, received her training at Sparrow hospital, Lansing. Mr. Kiebler is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Kiebler of Hagadorn road, east Lansing, his father being a member of the faculty of Michigan State college. Both bride and bridegroom are graduates of the Okemos high school and Mr. Kiebler, for a time attended Michigan State college.
Hazel L. (White) Taylor, born 15 April 1885, remarried 1 August 1949, Steuben County, Indiana. She wed Oliver Martin Brown of Williamston, Ingham County, Michigan. Hazel died March 1970 and no mention of any of the Ries children was included in her 11 March 1970 Lansing State Journal obituary.
Newell and Rosamond had 30 years of marriage and raised two sons, Frederick and William. Rosamond succumbed to cancer 31 May 1967, Lansing. She was interred Deepdale Memorial Park, Eaton County, Michigan. Newell, born 15 August 1914, Mason County, Michigan, died 8 August 1991, Lansing and was interred with Rosamond.

ROSAMOND KIEBLER
Mrs. Rosamond Kiebler, 2401 Belaire Drive, died Wednesday in her residence.
A resident of the Lansing vicinity for 40 years, she was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Newell W.; two sons, Frederick N. and William D. both of Lansing; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Rainey of Tucson, Ariz; four brothers, Dale C. Ries of Dansville, George C. Ries of Haslett, Wayland Ries of Parshallville, and Gerald Cotton of Jackson.
Services will be Friday t 2:30 p.m. in the Gorsline-Runciman East Carpel with burial in Deepdale Memorial Park.
