In Memoriam

Marion Alice Wieland (Schmidt) - Class Of 1934

Marion Alice Wieland, daughter of Lewis William (1887-1964) and Florence May (Farnsworth) (1885-25 December 1920), was born19 March 1917, Ingham County, Michigan.  She graduated in 1934 from Okemos High School.  On 20 October 1935, Owosso, Shiawassee County, Michigan, Marion married Martin Henry Schmidt.

Martin was born 5 May 1902, New Haven,  Allen County, Indiana.  He was employed many years as a die setter for Motor Wheel Company, Lansing.  After raising 3 children and retiring the Schmidt's moved to New Port Richey, Pasco County, Florida about 1970.  Martin passed away 11 April 1978 in Pasco County.  Marion continued to live in Florida after Martin's death.  She died 22 January 1994, Pasco County.  Martin and Marion were interred Meadowtown Memorial Gardens, New Port Richey.

SCHMIDT, MARION A., 76, of New Port Richey, died Saturday (Jan. 22, 1994) at HCA New Port Richey Hospital.  Born in Okemos, Mich., she came her 24 years ago from Perry, Mich.  She was a retired bookkeeper for the state of Michigan and a member of Faith Lutheran church, New Port Richey.  Survivors include two sons, Roger L., Melbourne, and Clayton H., New Port Richey; a daughter, Laura, New Port Richey; three sisters, Betty Everett and Trella Algate, both of Mason, Mich., and Mary Beatty, Lansing, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  North/Meadowlawn, Meadowlawn Chapel, New Port Richey.
