Leslie A. Greene - Class Of 1935

Leslie A. Greene

Leslie A. Greene (often spelled Green), son of Leslie Lafayette Mathews (1894-1957) and Leonora (Kirsch) (1896-1976) Greene, was born 7 June 1916, Michigan.  The Greene family lost a 1 year old boy to pneumonia in September 1927.  Little Raymond Lee Greene was interred Deepdale Memorial Park, Eaton County, Michigan.

FEAR BOY SUSTAINED FRACTUE FROM FALL

Leslie Green, 13, of R.F.D. No. 5, was slightly injured Thursday evening when he fell in a roller skating rink.  Attendants at the Edward W. Sparrow hospital, where he was taken, said Friday that he had a possible fracture of bones in the left thigh.

Leslie graduated in 1935 from Okemos High School.  About 1938 the entire Greene family moved to California.

The 1940 US Federal Census enumerated the Greene's living n Napa, Napa County, California.  Leslie Sr. and wife, Leonora, died in California and were interred Sylvan Cemetery, Citrus Heights, Sacramento County, California. 

Leslie married widow Gloria Pauline (Selna) Pitcher.  Gloria's husband, a US Navy veteran, died in 1952.  Leslie and Gloria were married between 1952 and 1960 when they were listed in a California city directory as husband and wife.  Gloria, born 23 December 1905, California, died 31 October 1987, Napa County.  Leslie died 5 February 2003, California.  Internments are unknown.
