Harry James Burch, son of Maurice Allen (1906-1984) and Myrtle Adel (Bird) (1907-1998) Burch, was born 29 September 1928, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. Harry attended but did not graduate from Okemos High School. He was a member of the class of 1946.
In February 1951, during the Korean Conflict, Harry was drafted into the US Army where he served honorably until discharge in February 1953. On 2 July 1951, Lansing, Harry married Elaine Ruth Beaubier. Elaine was a 1948 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School.

Harry and Elaine celebrated 2 children and 40 years together before Harry's death at age 61, 6 March 1990, Lansing. Elaine, born 22 June 1930, died 29 May 2012. Harry and Elaine were interred East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos, Ingham County.

Age 61, passed away on March 6, 1990. He was born in Lansing on September 29, 1928 and has been a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army; a member of Holt Post #238, American Legion; and was currently employed with Cheney Concrete for the past 14 years. Surviving are wife, Elaine; son, Hank of Lansing; daughter, Heather of Okemos; mother, Myrtle Burch of Holt; 2 brothers, Harold and Carl, both of Okemos; 5 sisters, Norma Wiseman, Carol Foorman, Alice Connelly and Marion LeClear, all of Lansing, Marlene Hunt of Alabama; many nieces and nephews. Religious services will be conducted by the Rev. Harley Cokonougher of the House of Prayer at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with interment in East Lawn Memory Gardens.
