Jeanette I. Eicher, daughter of Royson Laverne (1913-1984) and Genevieve Ila (Eberly) (1914-1998) Eicher, was born 15 July 1937, Michigan. She graduated in 1955 from Okemos High School and on 29 September 1956 married Neil Sampson in Greenville, Montcalm County, Michigan. Neil and Jeanette were married 60 years and raised 3 sons before Jeanette died 19 January 2017.

Jeanette I. Sampson, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1937 to the late Royson and Genevieve Eicher. Jeanette graduated from Okemos High School in 1955. She married Neil Sampson on September 29, 1956 in Greenville, Michigan. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping and watching the Detroit Tigers, Grand Rapids Whitecaps and Michigan State University sports. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, with her family and also at the Wyoming Senior Center. Jeanette is survived by her husband of 60 years, Neil; her children, Mark (Joyce) of Portage; Scott of Wyoming, and Dave (Barb) of Belmont. She is also survived by her brother, Lauren (Bonnie) Eicher; eight grandchildren, Chad, Jessica (James) Balder, Daniel, Bryan (Megan), Andy, Chelsea (John) Russell, Courtney, McKenna; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services for Jeanette will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 11 am at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE with Pastor Lauren Eicher officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral chapel on Monday from 4-8 pm and Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Wyoming Senior Center.
