Jeffrey Ryan "Jeff" Hoshal, son of Gregory Dean and Celia (Wang) Hoshal, was born 10 September 1995, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. Jeff, a talented youngster, was on a chess team in elementary school. In high school he was named to the June 2013 Michigan High School LaCrosse Coaches Association All-State Team. He placed on the 2nd Team Special Teams. Jeff graduated in 2014 from Okemos High School and furthered his education at the University of Michigan, obtaining a B.S. Degree in 2017.

HOSHAL, JEFFREY RYAN It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey R. Hoshal, age 22, announces his unexpected passing on Monday, April 16th, 2018. Jeffrey was born on September 10, 1995 in Lansing, MI to Greg and Celia (Wang) Hoshal. Jeffrey graduated from Okemos High School in 2014, and the University of Michigan with a B.S. Degree majoring in Neuroscience in 2017. Since graduation, Jeffrey worked as a medical scribe at Henry Ford Allegiance Health Emergency Department in Jackson in preparation for medical school. Jeffrey was a brilliant man who thoroughly embraced a love for life, family and friendships. He had achieved many accomplishments during a life cut way too short. He was an athlete and enjoyed playing lacrosse, basketball and football. He enjoyed fishing, sailing, music, piano, water sports, cars, chess and various entrepreneurial ambitions. He excelled at everything he set his mind to do.
Jeffrey spent his summers on the lakes of Northern Michigan, hanging out with friends, and camping at his favorite Christian retreat, Camp Barakel. Jeffrey will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers. Jeffrey is survived by his parents Celia Wang Hoshal and Gregory Dean Hoshal, brother Dr. Steven Gregory and his wife Dr. Gillian Leigh Hoshal of Sacramento, CA and brother Brendan Scott Hoshal of Grand Rapids, MI; grandmother Janice Hoshal of Durand, MI; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service for Jeffrey will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at 2/42 Community Church, 2600 Bennett Rd, Okemos, with Pastor Rick Stacey officiating. VISITATION 1 hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Camp Barakel P.O.
