Albert Richard "Dick" Murphy, son of Howard R. (1906-1987) and Iris Maude (Amiss) (1908 England - 1963), was born 13 July 1931, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Dick attended Okemos High School with the class of 1949.

Dick married Lois Geraldine Hagerman 18 July 1949, Ingham County.  The couple celebrated 35 years and 3 children together.  Dick died 26 May 1985, Ingham County.  He was interred Pioneer Cemetery, Crawford County, Michigan.  Lois, 1931-1995, was interred beside Dick.  

Lois was a 1950 graduate of Okemos High School.  After's Dick's death she married John Sundquist.

Died Sunday, May 26, 1985 at Ingham Medical Center.  Services will be held at Scarletts Funeral Home, 409 W. Main, Owosso, Thursday, May 30 at 11 a.m.  Burial at Pioneer Cemetery, Roscommon, Rev. Marion Ellis officiating.  Visitation 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Scarletts Funeral Home.  He was born in Lansing on July 13, 1931 the child of Howard & Iris (Amiss) Murphy.  He attended Okemos Schools, resided most of his life in the Roscommon area.  He was married to the former Lois Hagerman in Lansing on Jul y 18, 1949.  He worked with General Telephone Company for 31 years.  Survivors are his wife, Lois; 2 sons, Michael Murphy of Houston, TX and Patrick R. Murphy of Charlotte, NC; 1 daughter, Mrs. Kim (Allison) Keith of Grand Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 2 sisters; 5 brothers and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Murphy of Lansing.
