Okemos eighth graders "went to jail" last week.  Accompanied by Mrs. Emily Coleman and Mr. Frank Williams, 8th grade students took a trip to the Ingham County Jail.

But don't get the wrong impression.  The excursion was part of a unit of study in social studies.

At the jail, the students were placed in groups with a guide and shown the staff dining room and the holding tank.  They also saw some of the trusties working around the jail.

Harold and Emily celebrated 37 years of marriage and 2 daughters together.  Harold, born 5 September 1913, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, died 25 October 1976, Schaumburg, Cook County, Illinois.  Emily died 5 September 1994, Schaumburg.  They were interred Deepdale Cemetery, Eaton County, Michigan.
