Douglas Richard Hapeman class of 2000, 41, of Lansing, most recently of Silver Spring, MD, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in his Silver Spring home on May 31, 2024.

Doug was born on July 29, 1982 to Robert & Dianne Hapeman in Lansing. He went on to graduate from Okemos High School in 2000. After many years working his way at Cottage Inn Pizza through college, he earned his MRI Technician certification in August 2023. He had just begun this new chapter of his life when he was stolen from us.

Doug is survived by his long-term girlfriend Caitlin Ryan, his parents Robert & Dianne Hapeman, his brother Matthew Hapeman (Charles Nankivell), and his cats Linda & Seymour.

Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Doug will remember his unwavering kindness, his wicked sense of humor, and his selflessness. He leaves a colossal gap in the lives of we who loved him.

Services will be held at Fenner Nature Center on June 29 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send your favorite Doug story; or bring it to the Memorial Services. And as Doug eschewed formality as much as possible, please dress comfortably.
