Francis "Frank" S Blom Ph.D, Kinawa 7th grade English teacher, passed to the Lord's presence on Friday, July 22, 2022 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Growing older is a gradual surrender. Each of life's experiences and episodes carve away at what reshapes the whole. Our decisions are more important than our abilities. We are in a constant process of being adjusted, altered, and remade by God's definition of reality. We embrace our success and failures as lessons of our life long informal education. It is not meant to be easy. We need God's help and the help of those He gives to us along the way. It is a gift for which we are thankful.
The message of Frank's life story is that his life is God's story of grace, redemption, and love. Frank lived an ordinary life using his advantages to advantage others. He lived in God's world, in His presence, under His authority, and for His glory.
He leaves his deeply loved best friend and wife Anne, son Kevin and Heather, son Eric, and grandson Eli. He liked to remind us that when life is over, it is not over.
The family will be having a private graveside service on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
