Anna Jane Boland was the daughter of Patrick (1820-1903) and Bridget (Kanalley) (1845-1917) Boland. Both Patrick and Bridget were born in Ireland and their marriage produced 9 children, 6 who were still living in 1900 according to the US Federal Census. The surname Boland was also often spelled as Bolan. Bridget Boland's 1917 Michigan Certificate of Death recorded her surname spelling as Bolan.

Anna was born 5 September 1875 in Meridian Township, Ingham County, Michigan. Her father, Patrick, was considered to be an early settler of Ingham County. In the later part of the 19th century, he was part owner of the "Boland and Early" Saloon located on Michigan Avenue in Lansing. Four of the Boland children, including Anna, were on the list of 1888 Okemos Union School students.

On 2 July 1914 Anna, a seeming spinster, married Albert Henry Quinn of Calhoun County, Michigan. Albert had wed a Fannie Baldwin in 1895 but the couple divorced in 1904. Albert had also been tittering on the edge of trouble for a while. He was arrested and wrist-slapped with a suspended sentence by the Calhoun County court over a burglary charge in 1907. Albert was born 18 August 1872 in Marshall, Calhoun County. And with his marriage to Anna, he seemed to settle down. He was employed at Rio Motors Inc. in Lansing and the couple lived on Shiawassee Street for many years.

Albert passed away from a coronary thrombosis in St. Lawrence Hospital, Lansing on 6 February 1946. Anna died 27 July 1952, Lansing. They were both interred Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lansing. There were no children.
