A perusal of the 1880 US Federal Census for Ingham County, Michigan records 11 people with the surname Force residing within the county, and only 2 were young Force men were born in the 1870's. Charles Spencer Force was born in 1878 and lived in Meridian Township. Frederic Force was born in 1877 and lived in Stockbridge Township.

Little is known about Frederic Force other than his parents were Obediah (1842-1899) and Arvilla (Pickett) (1841-1917) Force. Obediah and Arvilla were married 2 May 1866, Ingham County, and the marriage produced three children. The Force's only daughter, Clara, died at 1 year 4 months of age in 1869, Stockbridge. The oldest son William, born 1871, was not enrolled in Okemos Union School but seemingly "Frank" was. According to Ingham County records, Frederic was born 27 December 1877. He was enumerated in the 1880 census with his parents and brother. Nothing further is known about him.

Census tallys may complete the picture on Frederic. The 1900 US Federal Census for Ingham County, Stockbridge Township records Arvilla, widowed, living with her son William, who was single. Arvilla reveals she was the mother of 3 children but only one was living. Frederic probably died before 1900.

Obediah and Arvilla Force were interred near their daughter Clara, Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge. The brother, William, died in 1935, Emmet County, Michigan and was interred in that county, Lakeview Cemetery, Harbor Springs, Michigan.
