Among the students named on the roster of 1888 Okemos Union School was a little girl named Anna Maude McManamon. Anna, born 9 July 1875, Okemos, was the daughter of Patrick and Merceline (Babanaw or Babinot) McManamon. Patrick (1820-1882), born in Ireland, was a Union Civil War veteran having served in D Company, 14^th Michigan Infantry Regiment from 1862 until discharge in 1865. He and Merceline (1830-1892), who was born in France, wed in Genesee County, Michigan in 1852.

Anna married Frank Erwin Widger, 25 June 1902, Williamston, Eaton County. The couple began their marriage by settling in Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, where their daughters, Norma Oletha, born 1904, and Helen Katherine, born 1907, were born and raised. Frank worked in a factory and was a clerk in a dry goods store. At one time he was the Eaton Rapids City clerk. Frank succumbed to a cerebral hemorrhage, 10 Dec 1939, Eaton Rapids.

The Widger daughters never married. Norma graduated from Wayne State University and went on to have a 46 year career as a teacher and assistant principal in the Detroit School System, retiring in 1968. Helen was a commercial artist and she retired after 27 years from Hudson Department Store Company in 1970. The sisters, who lived at home until after their father's death, always lived together. Their mother Anna died 14 Feb 1960 in Beaumont Hospital, Eaton Rapids. Anna and Frank were interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.
