Comments about life and living
After graduation I was married to Mary Beth (nee' Barnett) [class of 1970] from 1970 to 1995 (divorced). We are still good friends.
I attended Anderson College & Theological Seminary, then graduated from MSU, with a degree in Education. I continued post-grad work at Wayne State U. in Information Tech, but managed restaurants until 1984. In July, 1984, I was in a motorcycle/truck accident which left me paraplegic & in chronic pain. Doctors said I would never work again, so I hopped into my wheelchair and went back to school.
I taught at Friends School in Detroit, primarily 4th & 5th grades, ending my career as school librarian. I also did technical writing. I retired with disability in 2001, continuing to work with the Commission on Disability Concerns in Dearborn, MI. I was also a consultant for disability civil rights, and menal health issues. I now live with my beloved spouse, Comfort, and my service dog, Quiche, in Westland, MI. Playing guitar and meditating keeps me out of trouble (most days!)
My son, Dan, is in computer tech, and my daughter, Elspeth, is a hard-working mom to Erasmus & Eowyn (among other things).
My life is difficult, but I'm grateful for the many blessings I've been granted.
Peace!
