Michael Ehlinger - Class Of 1971 VIEW PROFILE

Michael Ehlinger

Michael Ehlinger from class of 71, born April 5, 1953, died July 29, 2025 at the family condo in Stuart, Florida, after a long illness. He is survived by his siblings; Dr. Norman "Chip" (Denise Maurer) Ehlinger; John (JoAnne) Ehlinger; Sharon D. (John) Osborn; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, Dr. Norman Ehlinger and Dorothy Mayers Ehlinger, predeceased him..

After moving to Okemos from Ohio, Michael enjoyed living and playing in Tacoma Hills. He loved all sports and was on Okemos High School basketball, football and track teams. Michael's hospitality career began in the Greater Lansing area and carried him to Stuart, FL. Later years found him following his passion for the ocean, earning him the nickname "Ocean Man." He was very involved with the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center on Hutchinson Island in Florida, as well as protecting sea turtle nesting on the beach. Mike was also well-known for his large collection of vinyl!

Michael will be missed by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place and at this time a memorial service has not been planned.

We are grateful to Debbie Amori class of 1971, a best friend to Mike, for her assistance in creating this memorial. From Debbie:   "I loved the fun sweet side of Mike."
